Project description:

Combined cycle plant, total production 50 MWe (40+10) including:

  • PHASE 1:
  • 1 GE LM6000 PD gas turbine 40 MWe
  • PHASE 2:
  • 1 IST heat recovery steam generator, once through type, designed for dry operation (first in Italy)
  • 1 10 MWe steam turbine
  • 1 air condenser
  • Combined cycle auxiliaries systems

Project peculiarity:

The plant is designed to guarantee the necessary flexibility to satisfy the Electricity Pool Market variable request, following a production hourly schedule.

In order to get this scope the plant is subjected to the following operation mode:

  • very fast start-up from cold condition to 100%
  • very fast load variations
  • daily start-up and shut-down

Dry operation design allows to operate thegas turbine in simple cycle, using the steam generator itself as exhaust duct and stack, without need of flue gas bypass system.
