Project description:

Tri-generation plant including:

  • 1 gas engine cogeneration package, electric power production 1.100kW
  • 4 absorption chillers, total chilling capacity 9.800 kW
  • 3 fired tubes boilers, total steam production 36.000 kg/h at 12 barg
  • Connection to Varese hospital utility network
  • Integration with district heating network of Varese municipality

Fuel:

  • Natural gas from public network
  • Diesel oil (back-up fuel)

Project peculiarity:

The plant is designed to replace the old thermal facilities to fulfil the increased demand of utilities (steam, hot water, chilled water) of Varese hospital after expansion works. A significant improvement in performances, environmental impact and noise emission inside the area of the hospital is achivied.

The project includes the demolition of the old facilities and the disposal of materials contaminated by asbestos.

The new facilities are integrated with the existing district heating network of Varese municipality.
